Recognized since antiquity for its beneficial properties regarding digestive health and the immune system, mountain tea is known for its delicate floral taste, subtly reminiscent of citrus fruit and mint.
Commonly called Tsaï tou Vounou in Greece, mountain tea is actually an infusion as it is naturally theine-free. Generally enjoyed during the colder months in autumn and winter, its frozen version is also very popular in the summertime. Whether you prefer it hot or cold, add a small spoonful of honey and a dash of fresh lemon juice to benefit even more from its amazing antibacterial and relaxation properties.
SPECIAL TIP: For an infusion, use 1-2 stems per cup, to taste. Place the mountain tea stalks in a pot of boiling water, then reduce the heat to low. Let it infuse for 5 to 10 minutes depending on the desired strength. Filter and enjoy as is or with honey and fresh lemon juice.
